Asbestos surveys

Under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 (CAR2006) there is a legal duty to manage asbestos within all non-domestic premises and the common parts of domestic premises. The responsibility to manage lies with the duty holder who is recognised as the person who manages the maintenance or repair of a building or its equipment. It should be noted that there is a duty to manage, not a duty to survey, however you generally require a survey to identify Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) to enable its management.
Identifying ACMs and its condition is the first step to managing the material within a building.
Our surveyors are fully qualified to current industry standards (BOHS P402) and undertake surveys in accordance with HSG264 and have experience of surveying anything from large industrial sites and offices down to communal stairwells within residential apartment blocks. All samples are tested at an independent UKAS Accredited Laboratory.

Further information about managing ACMs is available in a Step by Step Guide on the HSE web site
